Tall herbs, 40-160 cm tall, mostly underground.
The stem is unbranched or has 2-4 branches from the Cistanche tubulosa extract part, with a diameter of 5-10 (- 15) cm at the lower part, and gradually slender upward, with a diameter of 2-5 cm.
Leaves broadly ovate or triangular ovate, 0.5-1.5 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, densely distributed in the lower part of the stem, sparsely and narrowed in the upper part, lanceolate or narrowly lanceolate, Synephrine Hcl and 0.5-1 cm wide, glabrous on both sides. Calyx campanulate, 1-1.5 cm long, apex 5-lobed, lobes suborbicular, 2.5-4 mm long, 3-5 mm wide. Corolla tubular bell shaped, 3-4 cm long, 5-lobed tip, lobes nearly semicircular, 4-6 mm long, 0.6-1 cm wide, margin often slightly curled, color variation, yellowish white or lavender, often brown after drying. There are 4 stamens, filaments attached 5-6 mm from the base of tube, 1.5-2.5 cm long, base wrinkled villous, anther long ovate, 3.5-4.5 mm long, densely villous, base with cuspidate.
Ovary elliptic, Capsicum Oleoresin, with nectary at base, style slightly longer than stamen, glabrous, stigma subglobose. Capsule ovoid, 1.5-2.7 cm long, 1.3-1.4 cm in diameter, often with persistent style at nape, 2-petal dehiscence. Seeds elliptic or subovate, ca. 0.6-1 mm long, outer reticulate, glossy. The flowering period is from May to June, and the fruit period is from June to August.
